Car Rental Fees Increase at Philadelphia Airport
To help fund a consolidated rental car facility, a new customer facility charge went into effect at Philadelphia International Airport. Rental prices have increased to $8 a day.

Due to a transportation funding bill with a new customer facility charge, car rental fees at Philadelphia International Airport have increased to $8 a day, according to a report by Philly.com.
The transportation funding bill — which was approved in November 2013 and took effect May 1 — will fund the design, construction and operation of a consolidated car rental facility for seven or more rental companies at the airport, says the report.
In addition, the new fee will help fund a new shuttle bus system and an automated “people mover” to go among terminals, the rental center and airport parking lots, according to the report. The fee is expected to generate $28 million annually.
