A car washer at a Globe Car Rental location in Montreal found a surprise under the hood of a rental car: a snake.

“When he opened the hood to refill the windshield wiper fluid, he was shocked to find a snake,” said George, a rental agent at the location, who declined to use his last name. “He immediately called our manager and me for help.”

When George arrived at the wash bay, he through it was a prank. “As I got closer, I jumped when it started moving; I was expecting it to be fake,” he said.

George called the renter to tell him about the snake. The renter was very surprised and had no idea that there was a snake under the car’s hood.

The manager called the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The nonprofit told him to send a picture. ““Due to the color of the snake, they said it will cause no harm, so we took it out of the hood and put it into nature,” George said.

“People forget funny things in rental cars, but this is the first time that I have seen a snake,” said George. “We aren’t in an area where there are a lot of snakes; we are in the middle of the city in Montreal.”
