car2go N.A. LLC’s car-sharing service has continued its growth in Vancouver by adding two new locations. It has recently expanded to Richmond, British Columbia, and Vancouver International Airport.

"Since car2go's launch in Vancouver in 2011, we have been committed to listening to member feedback and integrating it in a simple and effective way," said Chris Iuvancigh, location manager for car2go Vancouver. "From in-fleeting additional vehicles to expanding to more areas where our members work, live and play, our immense growth has been a true testament that car2go is on a very sound footing as a successful, expanding player in the Canadian mobility market. We truly thank our members for their candid input on how we can better serve them each and every day."

car2go will provide an additional 50 smart fortwo car2go edition vehicles for shared use, increasing the total fleet size across Vancouver to 750 vehicles within an expanded 120 square kilometer Home Area, where members can pick up and drop off a car2go, according to the company.

"The City of Richmond is committed to being a sustainable community, and one of the ways we can reach that objective is by reducing the number of vehicles on local roads, which will reduce traffic congestion, improve community mobility and lower greenhouse gas emissions," said Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie. "Car sharing helps us achieve our sustainability goals, while providing an economical and convenient transportation alternative for its users. ..."

Additionally, car2go has expanded its service to provide car2go members airport access and parking near Vancouver International Airport, via a partnership with Pacific Gateway Hotel. This partnership marks Vancouver as the fourth city to offer car2go's on-demand, one-way transportation service at an airport location, according to the company.

"Pacific Gateway Hotel at Vancouver Airport is excited by our partnership with car2go," said Donald Pinkney, director of sales and marketing for Pacific Gateway Hotel. "Having this service offered at the hotel provides a convenient amenity for all our guests both travelling to and from Vancouver International Airport."

Today, car2go operates in seven countries and 30 cities with more than 900,000 registered members. car2go Vancouver shares a network of 750 car2go smart fortwo vehicles, which are available to over 75,000 car2go members, says the company.
