After launching in Brooklyn last month, car2go North America LLC announced today that it already has over 13,000 members in the Brooklyn borough, marking it car2go's fastest-growing market to date.
In celebration of the milestone, car2go has also shared Brooklyn user behavior data since its launch, including that its fleet of smart fortwo vehicles has been driven 55,000 miles and the average car2go trip is 22.45 minutes in Brooklyn, says the company.
Launched on Oct. 25, the car2go Brooklyn service provides 400 smart fortwo vehicles for shared use, says the company. Brooklyn members are able to pick up and drop off a car2go anywhere within the Home Area, which includes neighborhoods such as Williamsburg, Park Slope, R ed Hook, Coney Island and Sunset Park.
"We couldn't be more thrilled about the launch in Brooklyn — it has truly become our most successful market," said Paul DeLong, chief marketing officer of car2go North America. "Its incredible growth is testament to our unique offering, and how the progressive people of Brooklyn needed an alternative public transportation option when traveling within their borough."
