Calgary administrators have told the city’s transportation committee that car-sharing service car2go is not violating “clustering” laws designed to prevent the company’s vehicles from taking up too many available parking spaces, the Calgary Herald reported.
Some counselors said they had received complaints that car2go vehicles are parked in spaces for more than the two-hour limit and that the Calgary Parking Authority is not properly enforcing the rules.
However, city counselors believe that parking restrictions on car2go vehicles are working and the company is largely abiding by Calgary’s clustering laws that were enacted in 2015.
car2go is the only car-sharing service currently available in Calgary.
