In San Diego, car2go has updated its car-sharing fleet by adding 2014 models of Daimler smart fortwo electric vehicles, according to a report by Times of San Diego.
Four hundred of the new vehicles are now available to car2go members. The previous fleet contained 2010 models, says the report.

“The new 2014 vehicles, while maintaining the zero-emissions footprint, have a much smoother acceleration, and overall, a more comfortable car2go driving experience that our members will truly enjoy,” Will Berry, car2go San Diego location manager, told Times of San Diego.
Currently, car2go is also available in several U.S. cities, including Washington, D.C., Austin, Seattle, Denver and Miami.
Rental operators can now detect and act on speeding while vehicles are still on rent, thereby reducing fines, admin workload, vehicle wear, and safety risks.
The combination brings actionable vehicle insights into PurCo’s PurInspect platform, improving damage detection and operational efficiency for rental fleets.
