Carrentals.co.uk Donates Nearly $10,000 to UK Homeless Charity
The car rental comparison website conducted two major fundraisers to benefit the StreetSmart charity.
A UK car rental comparison website, Carrentals.co.uk, raised nearly $10,000 to benefit the homeless charity StreetSmart, the company announced April 9.
Through the website’s “Book & Donate” fundraiser and the “12 Days of Christmas” campaign during the holiday season, the company was able to raise close to $5,000, which was then matched by a government donation for an estimated total of $9,500.
“We are ecstatic at how well our ‘Book & Donate’ scheme has turned out — StreetSmart does really valuable work for UK homeless and so we are really pleased to help them out like this,” said Gareth Robinson, managing director for the car rental comparison site.
The funds will help StreetSmart create education, training, health and housing projects for homeless citizens throughout the UK.
“The Carrentals.co.uk Book & Donate day has been a great success and we are delighted that they have announced such a great sum raised by them and their customers for our worthy cause. This donation will help us to make a real difference,” said StreetSmart Director Glenn Pougnet.
