Carrentals.co.uk Says London Accounts for Nearly Half of Car Rental Bookings
There is an expected 33% increase of cars on the road during the Olympics as carrentals.co.uk reports that 40% of its UK bookings have been made for pick-up in London.
Carrentals.co.uk, the car rental comparison website, reported on July 23 that 40% of UK car rental bookings have been made in London during the time of the Olympics, boosting traffic congestion and cars on the road by 33% in the city.
Half of all the bookings for pick-up between July 20 and August 8 have been made by UK residents, highlighting the number of UK residents traveling to London for the Olympics.
Customers from the United States, Australia, Canada and United Arab Emirates account for 45% of all UK bookings with Carrentals.co.uk.
More than 1 in 5 travelers plan to stay in London for a short trip as the car rentals were booked for three to four days.
“In order to avoid any disappointment, especially for those traveling to London to enjoy the games, it is important to take note of the advice out there and give yourself extra time to reach your destination,” said Managing Director of Carrentals.co.uk Gareth Robinson. “We would also suggest checking the opening hours of the car rental desk to ensure you have enough time to drop off your vehicle before your onward journey.”
