PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- The Travel Distribution Division of Cendant Corporation announced it has named Robert Coggin, a travel consultant and retired Delta Air Lines' executive, to the division's newly created position of executive vice president of supplier development.
In this senior role, Coggin will be responsible for travel distribution, strategic planning, revenue and yield management. He will also coordinate supplier relationships with rental car companies, airlines, hotels and resorts, cruise lines and tour operators.
"This new position and Bob's appointment is pivotal to Cendant's travel distribution initiative as we continue to develop new, and strengthen existing, strategic distribution and marketing alliances with major travel suppliers," said Sam Katz, Cendant's chairman and CEO of travel distribution, and chief strategic officer. "Through Cendant's collection of travel brands and our effective GDS, online and offline distribution channels, we're striking agreements with suppliers to achieve win-win outcomes that include moving considerable inventory for our partners."
Coggin retired from Delta in May 1998, and currently serves as principal in his own transportation and management consulting practice.
