The Ministry of Transport in China has given approval for car rental companies to offer chauffeur services through their online platforms, reports Shanghai’s National Business Daily, according to an article by Want China Times.
Ride-sharing chauffeur services offered by private car owners (like Uber) are still banned due to issues regarding safety and transparency. However, existing car rental businesses can legally operate their Internet-based chauffer services, says the article.
Car rental firms like China Auto Rental have started launching Internet-based chauffeur services.
