Dollar Rent A Car, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc., is pleased to announce the launch of its first app for iPhone and iPod touch. The Dollar Rent A Car App allows customers to make reservations at Dollar locations worldwide, modify existing reservations, plan their trips with the “Around Town City Guides” and more.

“We are very excited about the release of our new Dollar Rent A Car App for iPhone and iPod touch,” said Scott Thompson, president, CEO and chairman of the board of Dollar Thrifty. “We view this offering as a natural extension of our existing mobile strategy which has seen tremendous growth this past year. The app securely stores existing reservations and customer details so that renters can view them at anytime or reserve additional offerings such as a car seat or GPS. The “Around Town City Guides,” also available through the app, feature ideas and specials for dining, playing and staying at top leisure destinations so that customers can plan their trips easily with recommended restaurants, activities and hotels.

The unique Dollar Rent A Car App is custom built by Dollar Thrifty and its partner, FKQ Advertising + Marketing. The mobile app is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
