Enterprise Holdings is donating $10,000 to Fisher House Foundation’s 25th anniversary “Home Away from Home” campaign. Fisher House is a military nonprofit organization that provides free temporary lodging for military and veterans’ families at hospitals.
Enterprise will honor Fisher House Foundation at next week’s Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Convention in Orlando, according to the company.
“We wanted to show our commitment to the travel industry in a meaningful way at this year's GBTA Convention,” said Brad Carr, vice president of corporate business for Enterprise Holdings. “As a result, we are extending our partnership with Fisher House Foundation and collaborating with them to ease the travel burden for military families visiting loved ones.”
Visitors at the convention can join Enterprise’s support for Fisher House Foundation by donating frequent flyer miles and hotel points to the nonprofit’s Hero Miles and Hotels for Heroes programs.
Fisher House Foundation has saved families of service members and veterans receiving treatment at military and Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers an estimated $282 million in out-of-pocket costs for lodging and transportation, according to the company.
“We are honored and privileged to have such a wonderful partnership with Enterprise,” said Ken Fisher, Fisher House Foundation’s chairman and CEO. “We will use this very generous donation to continue our work of serving military veterans and their families. We are truly blessed and see this gesture as a way of saying thank you to those who have given this country so much.”
