ST. LOUIS -- The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) recently honored Enterprise Rent-A-Car for the company's support of employees serving in the military.

Enterprise drew a 5-Star level ranking in the ESGR Statement of Support program, making the company only the second employer in Missouri to receive this level. Enterprise also received the Patriot Award in recognition of the company's support of employees who serve in the Reserve or National Guard.

Major Gen. (retired) Loran Schnaidt, chairman for the Missouri ESGR Committee, delivered the award and thanked Enterprise leaders for supporting the company's citizen-soldiers beyond what the law requires.

"We at Enterprise believe helping our employees who serve in the military makes sense both in terms of corporate citizenship and sound business practice," said Don Ross, vice chairman and president of Enterprise. "While we are honored to receive this prestigious recognition, we understand that the real heroes are those who answer the call of duty."

Robert Landry of Alpharetta, Ga., a fleet services group sales manager for Enterprise, was an honored guest at the ceremony. Landry, who is also a captain in the Army Reserve, recommended his employer for the Patriot Award.

Enterprise pays salary differential for its military members deployed to active duty. This benefit offsets the loss of wages experienced by employees serving on active duty.
