OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Enterprise Rent-A-Car has turned to Sprint to transition more than 2,000 locations from an existing satellite-based network to a new frame-relay data network. A five-year multimillion-dollar agreement between the companies has set the stage for a significant network overhaul at Enterprise.
Already, more than 200 sites have been switched to a Sprint network that combines frame relay services and high-speed asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) technology. Enterprise expects to transition the company's entire network away from its existing satellite-based service in the next 12 to 24 months.
