ST. LOUIS –- Enterprise Rent-A-Car is planning a phased national roll-out to make GPS devices available at its airport locations.

Under the first phase, Enterprise will offer a customized version of Garmin’s StreetPilot c340 to renters at 45 airports across the United States, beginning in late January.

The StreetPilot will be available for $7.95 and is designed for both frequent and occasional travelers. Enterprise plans to offer StreetPilots at the country’s top 100 airports by the end of March during the second phase of the rollout.

StreetPilots available at Enterprise are customized to include locations for and directions to the company’s more than 5,800 U.S. neighborhood and airport locations

The Garmin database includes nearly 6 million points of interests – from hotels to ATMs. Additional features include a text-to-speech item that mentions street names, instead of simply distances to streets; a bright, high-resolution touch-screen; and dual integrated speakers for voice prompts.
