Eugene Police Arrest Alleged Hertz Serial Vandal
Since March 13, Eugene police received six complaints about a man entering the rental lot and breaking windows in the vehicles, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Police in Eugene, Ore., arrested Bernard Shifman, 41, Thursday, after he was seen throwing a solid object through the windows of multiple vehicles at a Hertz Car Rental, officials announced.
In a statement, the Eugene Police Department said since March 13 it had received six complaintsabout a man, who matches Shifman’s description, entering the rental lot and breaking windows in the vehicles. The damages are estimated at a couple thousand dollars.
Shifman has a record of arrests for criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. He was arrested as he left the Hertz location Thursday around 12:45 a.m. for criminal mischief in the first degree.
