In order to help its customers book rentals, Europcar has introduced a new smartphone app for Android and iPhone users.

In three steps, customers will be able to reserve a rental by selecting the time and place of their rental and choosing the vehicle from their phone. Customers can also add additional extras to their rental including child seats or navigation systems. They also have the option to pay from their phone or at the time of pick up at the rental location.

In addition to making reservations, the app allows users to search for details on any Europcar car rental locations worldwide. The app also stores personal information to help facilitate future bookings.

Once they have their rental, customers can use the app’s augmented reality to use the camera on the phone to snap a picture of where they are parked and find their way back to the vehicle. It can also be used to find the nearest Europcar location.

For customers without an Android or iPhone, Europcar has a mobile version of its website that also allows customers to make rentals from their phone.

“With the development of this mobile application, we wish to accompany our customers at important steps of their everyday lives by providing them with a new booking experience that is simple and brings them added value,” said Europcar Group e-commerce Director Jehan de Thé.
