Europcar Sponsors Disability Sport and Recreation Event
In addition to sponsoring DSR’s CyclePower 2013 fundraiser, Europcar also offers wheelchair-accessible vehicles in its rental fleet.
Europcar has announced a sponsorship of CyclePower 2013, a Disability Sport and Recreation (DSR) event that will take place in Fiji from June 6-16. This long-distance cycling event provides the opportunity to contribute to this Australian-based organization, which offers sport and recreation opportunities for people with a disability. Sixteen participants, with and without a disability, ride 550 km over 10 days across Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu.
According to Mike Warmington, Europcar’s director of sales and marketing, “All of us here at Europcar are really excited to be a jersey sponsor for this year’s CyclePower – it’s a great cause and an admirable challenge for all involved.”
Supporting DSR since 2012, Europcar has provided DSR and its members with discounted vehicle rental across its fleet, which includes wheelchair-friendly vehicles.
This offering follows an Australian partnership between Europcar and Automobility Pty Ltd., a wheelchair-accessible vehicle company that helped Europcar offer Kia Grand Carnival wheelchair-accessible vehicles in its rental fleet.
“Providing a flexible travel solution to all our customers is extremely important to Europcar,” said Warmington. “We pride ourselves in delivering practical products and services for customers to meet their diverse and unique needs. Europcar is the only vehicle rental car company to offer wheelchair accessible vehicles, providing a much needed transport solution for people with a disability.”
