Europcar to Utilize Electric Bikes for Vehicle Delivery/Pick-up in London
Europcar is working with its partner AutoClenz to use electric bikes to help improve the efficiency of its service while cutting CO2 emissions.
Europcar is working with logistics company AutoClenz to use electric bikes throughout London this summer in order to boost vehicle delivery and collection for its customers.
For more than a year Europcar has been working with AutoClenz, which the company announced July 4 will be employing more delivery agents to carry out vehicle deliveries and collections on behalf of Europcar. The electric bikes can be folded up and put into the back of a car, enabling AutoClenz agents to deliver a rental vehicle and get back on the bike to collect the next vehicle without delay or adding to congestion.
While travelers in London have been advised by Transport for London (TfL) to use public transportation in mid-July to September, Europcar wants to provide businesses and individuals who prefer or need to use their own vehicle with a streamlined rental process.
“Working in partnership with AutoClenz, their delivery and collection agents will be able to get around more quickly than if they were on four wheels, especially around the more congested areas,” said Europcar Managing Director Ken McCall. “This is part of our commitment to delivering the same quality service to our customers during this intensely busy period.”
McCall also noted that the move goes along with the company’s “Green Pledge.”
