First Car Rental has announced a flight partnership with South Africa’s newest airline, FlySafair, which will start services in October 2014. The first FlySafair flight — between Cape Town and Johannesburg — is set to take off on Oct. 16.
"This is a very exciting and powerful partnership for First Car Rental,” said Melissa Storey, executive head of strategy, development and marketing at South African-based First Car Rental. “ … We firmly believe in mutually-beneficial relationships, focusing on each partners’ strengths, leveraging each opportunity that presents itself, and this will be the case with FlySafair who shares similar beliefs."
"We are pleased to be partnering with First Car Rental as our passengers will undoubtedly benefit from this collaboration,” said Lorna Terblanche, vice president of passenger services at FlySafair. "By having First as our travel partner of choice, FlySafair was able to negotiate better car rental rates, which will automatically be passed on to our passengers.”
