A new Payless Car Rental location will open in Rockville, Maryland on October 1, 2000. It will be run by a husband and wife team, Shahla Bateni and Sam Sharooz, who have more than five years of car sales experience and three years of car rental experience.
The new franchise will begin business with a fleet of mostly economy and compact vehicles, catering to the insurance replacement segment of its market.
Bateni and Sharooz attended the Payless Car Rental Systems, Inc. second annual franchise forum earlier this year and admit that it reinforced their decision to become a Payless franchisee.
