Getaround Launches in Miami
The expansion comes after the company announced last month that it had secured $300 million of funding from a recent Series D financing round.

San Francisco-based carsharing platform Getaround has expanded operations to service customers in Miami.
Each car on the platform will be equipped with Getaround Connect, a technology that allows users to rent, locate, and unlock the car using the Getaround iPhone or Android app. This allows car owners to instantly exchange their cars with residents and visitors of Miami without coordinating a key pickup or dropoff, while also offsetting total cost of vehicle ownership.
The expansion has brought on a dozen local employees, secured an office space in Coral Gables, and has developed partnerships with local auto body shops and automotive vendors.
The expansion comes after the company announced last month that it had secured $300 million of funding from a recent Series D financing round.
Getaround now operates in nearly 70 U.S. cities, including Boston, Seattle, San Jose, Calif., and Philadelphia.
