U.K.-based car rental company Green Motion has announced the sale of its first U.S. franchise in Florida. Beginning Sept. 1, Total Auto Rent — an independent rental company in Miami — will partner with Green Motion to operate the franchise at the Miami International Airport as well as Miami’s South Beach.
“We are absolutely delighted that we have been able to reach agreement to open Green Motion’s first franchise in the United States,” said Richard Lowden, Green Motion International’s founder and chairman. “Total Auto Rent, under owner Patricio Franulic, already has an excellent reputation, and I am in no doubt whatsoever that the development of the Green Motion brand here in the USA is in safe hands. “
“For several years, we have been looking at the expansion of our already successful car hire business when we discovered the Green Motion franchise opportunity,” said Franulic. “We felt that their unique positioning of the brand with the provision of ecologically friendly vehicles, coupled with their expertise within the global rental industry, made them the right partners for our company.”
