Hertz, which in September launched the Green Collection of fuel-efficient, environmentally-friendly cars in 50 markets nationwide, has expanded the fleet to encompass Canada and Europe as well. In Europe, the Green Collection features 6,800 fuel-efficient vehicles across the U.K., Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands. Hertz said locations also are being added in France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. By the end of the year, Hertz expects to have a total of 50 locations in Europe. In Canada, Hertz’s Green Collection fleet includes the Buick Allure, the Ford Fusion, the Hyundai Sonata and the Toyota Camry. The vehicles can be reserved in major airport locations in Toronto; Montreal; Quebec City; Vancouver; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. . In the U.S, Hertz’s Green Collection totals total 35,000 vehicles with an EPA highway fuel efficiency rating of 28 miles or more per gallon. The fleet includes the Toyota Camry, the Ford Fusion, the Buick LaCrosse and the Hyundai Sonata vehicles.
