The Hertz Corp. has announced the expansion of its Carfirmation service, a free email service to confirm the exact rental vehicle customers will receive prior to collection. In addition, customers traveling to Hertz Gold branches — with counter-bypass facilities — will also receive the specific parking bay location for their vehicle, so they can head straight to their car.

The Carfirmation service is available to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Benelux.

Michel Taride, group president of Hertz International, said: "The latest addition to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, the Carfirmation service confirms a Gold customer's reserved vehicle, and for many Gold branches, [it] advises them of their car location so they can skip the counter. ..."

Similar to a program available in the U.S., the email alert is generated as soon as a vehicle is assigned to the reservation. Details include vehicle model, color and registration number, reservation number and optional extras, such as Hertz NeverLost satellite navigation.

To sign up for this service, Hertz customers simply need to select the “Carfirmation service” option in their Gold Plus Rewards profile and provide a valid email address.
