Hertz On Demand launched in Australia with 30 new spaces throughout Sydney.
In a company announcement on Nov. 14, the Hertz Corp. introduced its car sharing club Hertz On Demand to Sydney, Australia.
Hertz On Demand now has 30 spaces in locations around Sydney. By 2013, the car sharing service plans to increase the number of available spaces to 100. Sydney members will also be able to use the Hertz On Demand car sharing services in Europe and the U.S.
Members can sign up online to have access to Hertz’s fleet of self-service vehicles located throughout Sydney. Rates start at $6 per hour and include insurance, fuel, maintenance and cleaning.
The corporate program of Hertz On Demand is also available for companies to place Hertz vehicles on corporate sites to operate as employee cars.
Vehicles are installed with an RFID reader with SmartCard identification for keyless-entry. The vehicles also feature hands free in-car communication technology that allows members to contact the Hertz in-house Member Care Center in Australia.
