“As our exclusive car rental partner, Hertz offers AAA’s more than 55 million members a wide variety of money-saving discounts and exclusive offers,” said Bill Sutherland, AAA senior vice president of travel and publishing. “We are pleased to increase the regular member discount with additional rental savings through the busy holiday travel season.”
AAA forecasted that 98.6 million Americans would travel during the holiday season. According to Sutherland, an important step when planning a safe vacation is finding the right rental car.
As part of the partnership, Hertz provides recommendations for vehicles that will help make winter travel easier, depending on the location. Recommended vehicles include a Mercedes SLK250 for San Diego, a Range Rover for Pocono Mountains, Pa., a GMC Yukon XL for Aspen, Colo., and a Chevrolet Malibu for Miami.
“One of the first things people do before traveling is check the weather of their final destination, which is a major factor in determining the type of vehicle to rent,” said Paul Sheldon, Hertz’s senior vice president operations planning and support, North America. “As one of the largest worldwide car rental companies, Hertz not only provides travelers across the country with a wide range of vehicles from which to choose, but in a wide range of prices, as well.”
