HiyaCar Adds Quickstart Keyless Technology

HiyaCar, a U.K.-based peer-to-peer carsharing platform, has launched its QuickStart keyless technology, according to a report by Fleet Point.
The keyless technology will work alongside HiyaCar’s new mobile app. HiyaCar is the first peer-to-peer carsharing service in the U.K. to use keyless entry and remote tracking, according to the report.
QuickStart also helps with security. If a QuickStart is stolen, the technology allows for the engine to be remotely disabled and the doors locked once the vehicle has come to a safe stop, says the report.
“2017 is a big year for us, as we aim to expand across London and the U.K,” Rob Larmour, chief operating officer and co-founder of HiyaCar, told Fleet Point. “Our on-demand QuickStart proposition will make it easier than ever to hire a car, even for short journeys. Since launching HiyaCar, more than 75% of traffic to the site has come from people on mobile. The rollout of QuickStart and our new app across London is pivotal to ensure that the whole experience of hiring a car is seamless. …”
Within the next year, HiyaCar plans to install the QuickStart technology on 3,000 of its members’ vehicles.
