Hotwire Adds Car Rental to App
Hotwire, an online travel website, has added car rental capabilities to its iPhone app, allowing users to book a rental from a mobile device.
Hotwire.com, a travel website, has added car rental capabilities to its iPhone app in order to serve a growing number of mobile users as well as last-minute travelers.
The app allows users to search and reserve a car rental in three steps from their mobile device, says Hotwire. Additionally, the app features a new design interface, smart search that identifies car rental locations, a range of vehicle types, including economy, compact and midsize and one-page details and billing to review before finalizing a reservation.
“Since last year, close-in, Hotwire mobile bookings have increased more than 60%, and we foresee them becoming an exponentially greater part of our business as more Americans realize the savings to be had when booking very last-minute,” said Henrik Kjellberg, president of the Hotwire Group. “We see mobile as a huge growth opportunity for us, and the addition of car rentals to the iPhone app is an important step toward enhancing our offering for on-the-go travelers.”
The app is available to download for free from the App Store on iPhone or at iTunes.
