Hotwire Announces Clem Bason As President of Hotwire Group
The former vice president of Merchandising of Hotwire Group will oversee Hotwire.com, Travel-Ticker.com and CarRentals.com.
Hotwire, a leading travel discount site, announced Jan. 21 that Clem Bason has been promoted to president of the Hotwire Group, which includes Hotwire.com, Travel-Ticker.com and CarRentals.com. Bason, who will oversee all aspects of the three business units, takes over for Eric Grosse, who has been promoted to president of Expedia Worldwide.
Bason will also oversee CarRentals.com, which offers a diverse selection of car rentals.
Bason joined Hotwire as vice president of hotel supplier relations in February 2006, bringing deep experience in business strategy and partnership development to the company. As vice president of merchandising, Bason was responsible for retailing and led creative direction on the site.
Clem received an M.B.A. from the Haas School at the University of California at Berkeley and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.
