Tokyo-based car rental brand ORIX Auto Co. will combine its three rental car brands, ORIX Rent-A-Car, JAPAREN Rent-A-Car and X Rent-A-Car-into the single ORIX Rent-A-Car brand, according to an announcement on May 30.
By utilizing the strengths from each brand, ORIX hopes to improve the overall customer experience. ORIX Rent-A-Car brand was best known for its corporate sales network, JAPAREN Rent-A-Car features a track record of customer loyalty with more than 40 years in business, and X Rent-A-Car was best able to achieve sales in local regions, according to the new holding company.
The main goal of integrating its network under a single brand is to expand the rental shop network to 1,000 shops within the next five years, including the development of shops close to train stations, where there are strong customer needs, the company said.
Starting in July, ORIX will also update its Rent-A-Car Prime Members Club program to give customers more custom options.
