Luxury car rental sales as well as prices are increasing in Houston ahead of the Super Bowl, according to a report by the Houston Business Journal.

Roger Browning, vice president and general manager of Auto Exotic Rental, said that the rental prices have doubled. Normally priced at $1,299 per day, the Lamborghini Huracan convertible is currently going for $2,500 per day at Auto Exotic Rental. To rent for all three days of Super Bowl weekend, that Lamborghini costs $6,250.

“Some renters are aiming to entertain with luxury cars or trying to move people around in some of the company’s bigger rental cars,” Browning told the Business Journal. “Every agency in the city is running the same types of prices.”

Mykel Walker, CEO of Houston-based Private Club Exotics, said that the prices can include picking up clients and driving them around for the weekend. He told the Business Journal that his company has hired additional drivers to deal with the demand.

“One client is spending $12,000 for three Cadillac Escalades with drivers for Super Bowl weekend, and an average package price is hovering around $10,000,” Walker told the Business Journal.

Compared to a year ago, reservations have been up 25% this week and the upcoming weekend at Enterprise’s Exotic Car Collection location in Houston, Karl Koch, vice president and general manager for Enterprise in Houston, told the Business Journal.
