Lyft Debuts E-Scooters in Denver

Lyft announced that it is now offering Lyft Scooters in Denver, in an effort to improve street safety, transportation equity, and environmental sustainability.
The transportation service joins the likes of Bird and Lime, earlier startups that kickstarted the electric scooter-sharing trend. Like most scooter-sharing services, Lyft’s scooters are unlocked with an app and can be found and dropped off almost anywhere within the “service area”. The scooters are available to ride between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week, and cost $1 to unlock and 15 cents for each minute you ride.
Lyft hopes to also introduce bikes into its platform and expand to other cities across North America in the future. Lyft has been working with non-profits like TransForm to develop income eligibility programs and community outreach to increase accessibility to its services.
