Lyft has launched Lyft Line, a daily use ride program with the theme “shared rides along shared routes.”
After selecting your destination, the Lyft mobile app platform will connect you with a ride already going the same way, according to Lyft’s blog.
Lyft Line is part of a new transportation category called personal transit, says the company. Because Lyft Line is designed for daily travel, Lyft has made it more affordable by pricing it up to 60% less than an original Lyft ride.
Initially launching in San Francisco on iOS smartphones, Lyft Ride will soon be expanding to other cities as well as to Android smartphones.
