Maui Airport Plans $305M Rental Car Facility
A total of $305.5 million was released for the planned Consolidated Rental Car Facility and other roadway improvements at Maui’s Kahului Airport.
Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie announced that $305.5 million has been released for the planned Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) at Maui’s Kahului Airport, according to a report by MauiNow.com.
The funds are part of the $335 million funding release for capital improvement projects at airports across the state, says the report.
Promoting convenience for customers and reducing traffic congestion, the new facility will house rental car company counters and administrative offices on 17 acres of land at the Kahului Airport, according to the report.
The new ConRAC will also include ready-and-return vehicle parking spaces, four 15,000-gallon fuel storage tanks, a people mover system to and from the terminal and roadway connections to airport terminal roadways, says the report.
