Zipcar Inc. has launched its car-sharing service to customers throughout the city of Denver.

"The city of Denver has long been a leader in sustainability, so we're thrilled to now bring our 'wheels when you want them' to the Mile High City," said Zipcar President Mark Norman. "Thanks to the city's support, we're able to offer a wide variety of vehicles parked at convenient locations, making it easier than ever to shop at Costco, head out for a hike with friends or simply feel the breeze from a convertible."

More than 30 Zipcars can be reserved with rates as low as $9 per hour and $73 per day. With seven Zipcars parked in curbside spots in downtown Denver, Zipcars will also be available at private lots and garages throughout the city and at the Denver International Airport, according to the company.

"We are very excited to welcome Zipcar to Denver," said Jose Cornejo, manager of Denver Public Works. "In the Mile High City, we are focused on providing people with efficient, multi-modal transportation options. Zipcar's service provides residents and visitors with an incredibly convenient, environmentally responsible method of transportation."
