North Texas Hailstorm Squeezes Car Rental Supply
According to NBCDFW.com, Enterprise is shipping in 2,500 vehicles to help meet demand, which is still high after tornadoes in the area from April.
In a North Texas hailstorm last week, NBCDFW.com reported that drivers in the area are “scrambling” to find available replacement vehicles from car rental companies.
Enterprise reported that it is bringing in 2,500 cars into the area to help with new demand, which is still high after a tornado outbreak in North Texas in April. According to the article, early vehicle damage estimates were at about $400 million for this most recent storm. Bloomberg reported yesterday that the hailstorm may run up to $2 billion in home and auto damage claims, which total 20,000 and 50,000 claims, respectively.
NBCDFW said that most of the car rental locations are sold out, but that some were still available as of Friday morning.
