COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The car rental operators of Ohio have reorganized their association and renamed it the Ohio Car Rental Association (OHIOCRA). The group was previously known as the Ohio Alliance of Car Rental Agencies.
Right Communications LLC, a public affairs and association management company, will run the organization. Kathy Elliott Pullins will serve as president and CEO of OHIOCRA, and Scott Pullins will serve as its lobbyist and legal counsel.
"After facing down a proposed $4 a day rental car tax in Columbus in late 2002 and a proposed statewide tax in 2003, the rental car operators knew they needed to revamp the way their association operated," Kathy Elliott Pullins said. "The continued legislative challenges require a strong, proactive association that works aggressively to protect its industry."
OHIOCRA is now in the process of placing members on its board of directors. Mike Reynolds of Thrifty will serve as board chairman. Other board members already named include Blaine Byers of Hertz, Brady Bonner of Enterprise, Kevin Miles of Budget, and Andrew Sutter of Total Fleet Solutions.
In addition to legislative work, OHIOCRA will provide numerous benefits to its members, including educational forums and news updates.
