"With Ola Share, we are addressing the need for reliable and affordable mobility solutions, at scale,” said Ishan Gupta, Ola’s category head — shared mobility. “For users, there is the convenience of an air-conditioned cab ride at 50% of the fare, and an option to share it within identified social groups. Ola Share has far reaching benefits like reduced pollution and congestion free roads that result in cleaner and greener cities."

All of Ola's security features like track your ride, share ride details, emergency contacts, 24x7 customer support, and in-trip feedback are available for users on Ola Share. Customers are able to choose to share rides with members of social groups they are part of, without having to share a ride with strangers, says the company.

As soon as users request a share ride on the Ola app, their requests are matched with that of other users from their groups along their way, according to the company.
