Orbitz Worldwide, Inc., an online travel company, recently announced that it has reached an agreement with Avis Budget Group, Inc. to distribute Avis and Budget Rent A Car inventory, including hybrid vehicles, through its Orbitz and CheapTickets sites.

In April 2007, Orbitz launched eco.orbitz.com, a microsite that enables its customers to book more environmentally friendly travel. The company also formed a partnership with Carbonfund.org, enabling customers to offset their carbon footprint related to their travels.

The agreement provides Orbitz Worldwide customers with access to rental cars at Avis and Budget corporate-owned and select licensee locations in the U.S. and Canada. This access includes the Toyota Prius, the Nissan Altima and, available by year-end, the Ford Escape hybrid.
