LOT Polish Airlines and car rental distribution system CarTrawler.com have signed a 3-year agreement enabling the airline to offer a standalone car rental offering on its Web site www.lot.com.
Under the agreement, LOT will use the CarTrawler distribution system to retrieve real-time inventory and pricing from over 450 car rental suppliers in over 134 countries, including all destinations serviced by LOT.
This marks the first time an airline has used the CarTrawler multi-supplier, real-time feed to retrieve inventories from top car rental companies.
The agreement gives LOT the ability to offer a lucrative ancillary service to customers without the traditional rental problems of long lead-in times and poor availability, says CarTrawler Founder and CEO Greg Turley.
LOR overall continues to trend downward, but ongoing market and economic conditions could affect future results while the industry deals with staffing and productivity challenges.
