Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary is apparently a proponent of these "saddle seats." O'Leary must have some reverse-psychology marketing tactic. He ruffled feathers earlier this year with the idea of coin-operated bathrooms on planes. ACRA President Bob Barton blogged about it in April.
Airline passenger advocates have started a Web site to protest the piling on of airline fees. The collected stories will be submitted to Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. How about it, car rental?
I found this video on You Tube of Ireland's version of Candid Camera. Jake Stevens (Ireland's Alan Fundt) complains about a right-hand drive rental in Helsinki, Finland. The set up is pretty inane, but I'm passing this along because the car rental agent, not knowing she's on a hidden camera, handles the situation very well.
