Rental Car Employee Helps Catch Shooting Suspect
A Hertz employee notified police of the rental car the gunman was driving which aided in solving the case.
A high school student who works at Hertz car rental at Del Norte County Airport after school helped police find a double-shooting suspect, according to The Daily Triplicate.
Jessica Gregorio recognized the face of Jerry Wayne Steele, a customer she helped rent a car on June 14. When Gregorio got to work on June 15, she found the paperwork and confirmed the rental was to Steele who shot a mother and daughter at Shangri La Trailer Court.
Gregorio contacted her father who notified the police of the white 2011 Chevy Aveo that Steele rented.
This piece of information helped the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office locate Steele, according to The Daily Triplicate.
