Rentalcars.com, an online car rental service that’s part of the Priceline Group, has announced the launch of a new service to its online vehicle rental platform.

Rentalcars.com has started a new web service called Marketplace, which targets local independent car rental companies. The service provides car rental operators the opportunity to feature their vehicles in over 95 million global customer searches results every year, according to the company.

Marketplace will initially launch in the U.K. By opening its platform to the independent sector, Rentalcars.com plans to increase the number of locations and vehicles available to customers throughout the U.K.

“The independent car rental sector represents approximately 16% of the entire U.K. market,” said Ian Brown, CEO of Rentalcars.com. “By allowing independent supply partners to access Rentalcars.com, we are now able to offer increased coverage and choice to our loyal customer base.”

Rentalcars.com plans to roll it out to 20 countries within the next 12 months, according to the company.
