Telematics and mobility provider RentalMatics has signed a three-year contract with East Coast Car Rentals, signalling its connected car platform launch into the Australian market and expanding its global footprint.

A news release says that the Irish startup is helping to reduce operating and insurance costs, increase vehicle utilization and revenue opportunities, whilst optimizing all aspects of their future car rental business.

"RentalMatics are absolutely delighted to have signed with East Coast Car Rentals, and we are confident of the large savings we will generate for their operation as a result," says Colm Menton, CEO and co-founder of RentalMatics. "This also marks a milestone moment in the growth of RentalMatics as we introduce our telematics and fleet management solution to the Australian market."

Rohan Marx, managing director of East Coast Car Rentals, adds: ‘‘The COVID-19 pandemic has fast-tracked the adoption of technologies, and for the car rental industry, that is no different. Telematics is part of our future, enabling us to manage our fleet far more precisely, reward customers for great driving, and assist with damage claims. We are delighted to sign with RentalMatics, are looking forward to the journey ahead and the benefits we will be able to realize and bring to our organization."
