The Rockford Police Department wants to ensure that rental car companies will notify authorities when their vehicles are involved in a crime. When an incident goes unreported, it makes it difficult for the police department to quickly collect evidence and makes it difficult to track down the renter, Sgt. Carla Redd told WREX.com.
