SANTA CLARA, Calif. –- After eight months of searching, travel metasearch engine SideStep has found a new CEO.
According to TravelWeekly.com, Yahoo Shopping’s general manager, Rob Solomon, will be named the new CEO of SideStep.
The position at SideStep will be similar to Solomon’s post at Yahoo Shopping, where consumers search for deals on a variety of items. SideStep’s travel search engine and toolbar offer comparative shopping for travel bookings.
Russell Lemelin has been the interim CEO since the search for a new chief exectuive began in April after founder and former CEO Brian Barth stepped down, the report said.
SideStep, which has maintained its independence while others have been bought out, could possibly be looking to make the move toward an initial public offering. That, however, is speculation for now, according to the report.

LOR overall continues to trend downward, but ongoing market and economic conditions could affect future results while the industry deals with staffing and productivity challenges.
