Silvercar, the app-based car rental operation, has lowered its daily rental rate to $59 during the month of January. Customers can rent Silvercar’s Audi A4 vehicles for $59 a day in all markets.
Additionally, Silvercar customers will get in-car Wi-Fi, in-dash GPS navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio at no extra charge, says the company.
“We’re successful because we challenge the traditional rental paradigm of high prices, infuriating fees and subpar rental experiences,” says Silvercar CEO Luke Schneider. “So when we see competition increase price — without increasing actual value — we’re happy to show the world we think differently. There’s a reason our customer satisfaction and loyalty scores are four times the industry average: We know what customers want and we know how to give it to them. And now we’re doing it all with our best pricing yet.”
In September, Silvercar closed a $14M Series B financing that attracted high-profile investors, including Facebook Co-Founder Eduardo Saverin and former football quarterback Troy Aikman.
Currently, Silvercar has locations in Dallas, Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix and San Francisco.
