Sixt is adapting its finance division and strategically strengthening its management team. As of June 1, the supervisory board is appointing Kai Andrejewski, 53, to the management board of Sixt SE to serve as the new chief financial officer, with responsibility for global financial performance, corporate finance, tax, legal and governance and controls.
The company is appointing Sebastian Birkel, 38, a long-time Sixt manager and former CEO for Sixt USA, a divisional board member for the new global financial performance division, in which the areas of finance, controlling, and vehicle purchasing are being bundled. The finance department is expanding to include the important area of vehicle purchasing. The new structure underscores the holistic orientation of Sixt SE’s finance division with the objective of dovetailing cross-divisional information requirements.
Andrejewski has over 25 years of international experience, including 10 years as a regional board member and managing partner at the auditing firm KPMG. There, the Munich-based financial expert worked closely and successfully with global corporations in various industries for 18 years in total.
The certified public accountant who holds a doctorate degree and tax consultant began his professional career in 1993 and held positions in Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Munich. As managing partner, he looked after well-known and globally active DAX and MDAX companies. He has also headed the KPMG Think Tank Audit Committee Institute since 2016. He was appointed professor of accounting and auditing at the Private University of Applied Sciences in Göttingen in 2011.
In his new role, Andrejewski succeeds Jörg Bremer, who is leaving Sixt on June 1.
