Erich Sixt, CEO of Sixt SE, spoke at Sixt Rent-a-Car’s new North American corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale on Friday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Joined by elected officials, business leaders, and dignitaries, Sixt detailed his company’s track record in the U.S. since entering the market in 2011. He also explained why Fort Lauderdale was chosen as Sixt’s North American headquarters and offered his vision — not only for the future of Sixt but also for the future of the mobility industry.
“This new headquarters shows our commitment to the United States,” Sixt said. “It has room to expand, which we’re planning.”
Sixt said the company is planning to grow in the U.S. from its current leisure destinations to the top 30 airports. “We’re just scratching the surface at the moment,” he said. “We see a big future here.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by a Bavarian-style celebration.
Sixt has invested $10.4 million in its new headquarters building and plans to create 300 new jobs in Fort Lauderdale over the next five years, according to the company.
